The wedding of Agnes and Butch

Agnes and Butch’ wedding was my very last wedding to photograph in 2008 and it was a perfect way to end an absolutely amazing year.

The couple got married in the beautiful Church of Saint Ignatius Loyola in Manhattan.  After the ceremony, reception followed in the Greentree Country Club in Westchester.

Some of the highlights of Agnes and Butch’ special day, were, the meaningful ceremony, the Philippine folk dances, the cutest flower girls and ring bearers and a chilly but crystal clear day.

During the ceremony many Filipino wedding traditions took place.  Butch passed 13 coins into Agnes’ hands which represents his dedication to her welfare.  Agnes and Butch had sponsors who also pinned the veil on the couple and tied the cord.  The veil symbolized the unity of the two families and the cord the love and friendship between the couple.  Towards the end of the ceremony Agnes and Butch lit the unity candle.

The place cards were hanging from ribbons tied to a metal tree;  very different and elegant.

Congratulations to Agnes and Butch!

Thank you for letting me be part of your special day!
