Central Park spring wedding ~ Central Park, New York City wedding photographer

Alan and Lisa traveled from Texas with their four children to get married in Central Park.  They exchanged personally written vows in the Ladies Pavilion on a beautiful April weekend followed by a sand ceremony where the couple and their children poured different colored sands into a vase uniting them as a new family.  After the beautiful ceremony we took a romantic horse drawn carriage ride around Central Park and stopped at some of the quintessential spots of the park such as the Bethesda Fountain, the Bow Bridge and the Literary Walk.

Toward the end of the day, Mother Nature tried to surprise us with some April showers, however this family was well prepared and we had some great fun with the umbrellas and rain boots.

Congratulations to Lisa and Alan and their family!

Montauk beach wedding ~ Montauk, Long Island wedding photographer

I would like to post a photo from one of my favorite Memorial Day weekend wedding that took place five years ago in Montauk, for Throw-Back-Thursday.

Jen and Mike got married on the beach by the ocean and it was a beautiful and sunny Memorial day weekend.

We did all the family and bride and groom portraits right by the ocean.  This favorite portrait of mine shows the playful side of the couple and the beach umbrella adds a splash of color to the image.

Congratulations to Jen and Mike, who are now happy parents of a wonderful baby girl.

Surprise proposal in Central Park ~ Manhattan proposal photographer

I had the pleasure photographing Bryan’s surprise proposal to Noel in Central Park on the Gapstow Bridge.

Bryan contacted me months in advance to help him document the special moment when he asks Noel to marry him.  He chose the beautiful and romantic Central Park landmark, the Gapstow Bridge, to propose down on one knee to his girlfriend.  Noel was surprised and shocked and she said Yes!  She thought they are coming to New York City for a dinner in her favorite restaurant and a Broadway show.  After the proposal the three of us walked around the park to create some lasting memories and some engagement portraits of the freshly engaged couple.

Best wishes and lots of happiness to Noel and Bryan!

West Village winter wedding ~ Manhattan wedding photographer

Another favorite wedding moment for Throw-back-Thursday.

This wedding took place in the West Village in Manhattan in the winter of 2005.  So many things I loved about this wedding such as the bride’s cherry red Stella McCartney dress and purple shoes, the deep purple orchids she wore in her hair and the cute French restaurant where the guests celebrated them and the penthouse where the intimate ceremony was held.

However, my favorite moment from this wedding, was, when the couple was exchanging their vows and wedding bands during the ceremony and the couple’s son looked up for a split second at his parents’ hands.

I thought it was such a beautiful and special moment for them as a family.

Preston’s 1st birthday party ~ Forest Hills children photographer

I photographed Julie and Dave’s wedding a few years ago and now that they are parents of an adorable one year old boy, they asked me to photograph Preston’s first birthday party.

Friends and family arrived with lots of gifts to the party where children were entertained by twisted balloon animals and action heroes, face painting, bubble blowing and dancing.

Preston had not one but two amazing cakes; one to share with all the guests and one just for him to smash.  He definitely was not shy about smashing his cake while the adults and kids were cheering him on.

So much fun!  Preston had a blast at his party and by the end he was very tired and ready for a nap.

I really enjoyed seeing Julie and Dave again and their super cute babies Rocky and Preston.
