New life: Autumn Everly ~ Lifestyle newborn portrait session

I had the pleasure to photograph newborn baby Autumn when she was just 7 days young.

This little girl is the first born daughter of one of my favorites couples whose wedding I photographed a few years ago. I photographed baby Autumn at the family home where I could capture all the interactions and love between mommy and baby, daddy and baby and baby and doggies. I think it’s so important to incorporate all the personal elements such as the nursery and toys and every day moments such as cuddling and sleeping on mom, in addition to some naturally posed portraits. Lifestyle newborn sessions incorporate all the personal touches that a studio session with lots of props and costumes would miss out on.

Congratulations to Allegra and Michael who already showing amazing parenting skills. Baby Autumn is a wonderful little miracle!!

Central Park wedding at The Ladies Pavilion

Julie and Euan traveled from Scotland to get married in New York City. They picked the romantic Ladies Pavilion by the Lake in Central Park for their ceremony and the weather was perfect for an outside ceremony. Julie and Euan are both police officers and they had two New York City policemen as witnesses during their ceremony. The officiant was Sherrie Villano who held a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony.

After the ceremony and some portraits in Central Park, Julie and Euan and I did a little sightseeing and stopped by some of the landmarks the city is known for: Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square and Grand Central Terminal.

The couple was treated like celebrities, people wanted to take their photos, tweet about them and just ask lots of questions everywhere we went.

Julie and Euan also spending their honeymoon in the States, driving down on the historic Route 66, before returning to Scotland for more celebrations with friends and families.

Congratulations to Julie and Euan!! It was a pleasure being part of your special day!

Shakespeare Garden surprise marriage proposal

I absolutely loved photographing this proposal in Shakespeare Garden. Lucy and Matt, our now newly engaged couple, live in Australia. Lucy was on vacation in the States and visiting friends on the East Coast.

Meanwhile Matt in Australia was busy planning a surprise proposal and hired a gospel choir and contacted me to photograph the special event. Matt flew into New York City only a day and half before the proposal.

Lucy was spending the day in Manhattan with a group of friends and the early afternoon they were discovering Central Park. When the group got to Shakespeare Garden they were stopped by the amazing sound of a gospel choir right in the middle of the park. After the first song, Matt walked out from behind the group and asked Lucy to join him – Lucy’s expression was priceless!

When the choir started up Etta James’ “At Last”, Matt got down on one knee and asked Lucy to marry him. It was a beautiful and emotional moment and all the friends and some tourists were cheering the couple.

The choir finished up with a couple more songs then Lucy and Matt were celebrating with some bubbly.

Congratulations to Lucy and Matt – such a wonderful couple. Thank you for letting me be part of your special moment.
