Danfords winter wedding in Port Jefferson, New York

Kelly and Tim celebrated their wedding with their children, close friends and family in an intimate setting at Danfords in Port Jefferson.

It was a pleasure sharing such a special evening with all of them.

Gianna is getting all dolled up for the wedding.

Kelly was only a little bit surprised that she found A.J.’s blue pacifier in her bridal purse.

Kelly - Mariann,

Oh my!!! You have blown us away. We know you and your work and how beautiful all of your pictures are. And, the first word that comes to mind is…WOW!

You have captured the heart and sole of our special day. The pictures are so beautiful and more than we could have ever asked for.

Thank you for not only being a guest but by being our photographer. We are simply overwhelmed.

Your work is so beautiful and timeless and we are simply honored to be a part of it.

The Campanella Family

P.S. We cannot wait to see more…

Diane - Mariann,

You have captured some great shots. Not only did you have the vision on the “staged poses” but some of the candid shots are priceless. The black and white photos, “I Love.” and think it makes this a more unique package!

No doubt in my mind that my niece and nephew will treasure these, as I will.

Great Job!! and thanks for Sharing!!
Diane Healy

steve young - lovely images! looks very intimate and beautiful, i love that 2nd to last shot hehe

Old school elegant Manhattan wedding in New York City

I was really looking forward to Jenny and James’ wedding. It was my first wedding to photograph in 2008 and it was a truly amazing event!

The couple said “I do” in Grace Church and celebrated with friends and families at 24 Fifth.

Jenny wore a beautiful Demetrios gown and she looked absolutely stunning! The bouquets and centerpieces were created by super talented mother and daughter team, Designs by Rose.

The Hank Lane band provided the music and the dance floor was packed all night! Jenny and James spent a lot of time dancing and celebrating as well.

At then end of the night the couple took a get away car, aka NYC yellow cab, to Grand Central station, where we finished the day with some portraits.

Jenny and James are so in love and such a lovely couple, it was a pleasure photographing their wedding.

Here are a few of my favorite moments:

This is one of my most favorite images of the day: Jenny and Leah riding down the elevator to the take the limo to the church. They were so excited they couldn’t help themselves!!

Jenny’s dad is helping her getting into the limo. I love this shot: it so timeless and so New York.

The parent dances were so touching! Jenny’s dad also gave a wonderful and warm speech and welcomed James to the family.

In Grand Central Station: even though it was 11.35PM on Saturday night, there are still plenty of people in Grand Central. Lots of people came up to Jenny and James and congratulated them and wished them well. Everyone loves newlyweds!!

The last shot of the day: Jenny and James getting into the elevator at the Hyatt to go up to their room. Isn’t it a fantastic shot?? I love it!

Brooklyn Bridge and SoHo portrait session in New York City

Monica and Jacob are a fellow photographers from Florida who spent a long weekend in New York City and wanted to do a fun subway-hopping portrait session around the city. We started at the Brooklyn Bridge with perfect blue skies and sunshine and within a couple hours we got caught in a snow storm in Soho!! Monica and Jacob actually got a kick out of the snow since they don’t get to experience it very often. I had a blast with them!
Here are some of my favorite shots from the session.

Monica - Wow, Mariann, these are awesome. I can’t wait to see the whole gallery. Jacob saw them before me this morning and he was blown away.
Thanks again!!!

Thomas Metz - Great shots. Of course I’m prejudiced, they’re my kids. All kidding aside, exceptional photography.

steve young - very very cool “NYC” shots! love the feel to them

Styled portrait sessions in Tampa, Florida

I spent the first week of January in Tampa attending a wedding photographers’ convention.

It was a great experience; I attended about a dozen seminars given by some of the best photographers in the industry, mingled with 500 other photographers from all over the world and even participated in some photo sessions.

Local models traded their time, talent and beauty for images from a dozen or so different photographers. I took part in 3 sessions and had a chance to work with amazing models and all different light conditions (harsh midday light, 7AM early morning light, sunset). I had some new photo equipment to test out and it was a blast to photograph just for the fun of it. Here are some of my favorite images from the different sessions.

(PS. No wedding gowns were harmed or “trashed” during the photo shoots. Some of them got a little wet. 🙂 )

(PPS.  There was one male model who also brought his girlfriend so some of the more intimate couple’s shots are all real.)

Ann - This are great!! A lot of must haves poses for my wedding in here. Can’t wait!! 😛

Mariann - Ann,

Please feel free to climb on trees and jump into fountains on the big day!! 😀
You know I am game!!
😛
See you soon,
Mariann

Abby - Those shots in the water were like WOW!! I wanna try!! 🙂 😀

Mariann - Abby,

you’d be so perfect for the water shots!! We should do it!!
Maybe we can try it at the beach e-session??
Now we just have to get Neil to jump in the water with you!! 😯 😛

See you soon,
Mariann

Rod Pascoe - Your pictures are stunning!

I hope that one day I’ll be even half as good as you!

Rod

Gloria - These are so beautiful, I am so impressed (as always)! My favorites (and I took a long time to decide, because I love so many of them) are the one with the bride spinning around on the wooden bridge (that shot is amazing), the one with the bride in sunglasses (you should get royalties from the sunglass brand!) and the one with the bride lying by the window (the lighting is superb).

Christine L. - These shots are fantastic, Mariann! I love the water shots like everyone else, but I really also like the ones that have those pattern overlays. How did you do that?!

Mariann - Thank you Gloria!! 🙂
We have to make sure to get some spinning ones of you as well!!

Thanks so much Christine!! 😀
I am glad you like them. The images with the patterns and overlays are textures and I just recently started to play around with them.
If you like them, we can incorporate some of them into the engagement book and wedding album.

Christine L. - I would LOVE that! Keep on bein’ awesome, Marian!
